Sorry my tumblr peeps! It’s been a minute since I last put something up here. Bear with my my friends for I have been too busy with school. HELL WEEK is coming and I still have a lot of stuff to do before I’m completely done for the quarter! But for the meantime, here’s one for ya!

Vogue shoot.

This shoot turned out to be one of my favorite’s of all time. We had to re-do a cover for a certain magazine and of-course I chose Vogue China. I went to my go-to model and a really good friend of mine, Elena Rodriguez. ( SN - She does photography too btw) I was able to finally use the awesome robe that I bought for $14 on a thrift store! The robe isn’t in this particular image but I will be posting more from this shoot and you guys will see it there. 

This was a really rush shoot! Well, sorta kinda.. I planned it on the day the project was given but never followed up on it til the day before the shoot. We spent hours on the internet trying to look for inspirations, hairstyles and such til we got everything figured out. I went for the “asian up-do” hairstyle to match the whole “Vogue China” concept and it worked really well! We even got Elena’s mom to get involved in the shoot by letting us borrow her awesome nightgown! Overall, it was a fun and productive shoot!

Ahhhhh! good ol’ studio! This is where im at 50% of my time. I know, I barely have a life. Going out for me is going in the studio to shoot or going on a location to shoot. But it’s all good tho! I enjoy every minute of it! Dedication 101 SAAANN!!

Btw, this is my very basic lighting. I use two lights in the back with just the hood on (set on max range) and two lights in-front for the subject. 

So here’s an example of what kind of photography I really do. As I enjoy doing fashion, I really do enjoy doing some conceptual stuff as well. I like experimenting with different processes and different mediums to do photography. I just wish our school would do a lot more traditional stuff rather than digital and commercial.

I took this in the aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia <— definitely a must-go-to if you are visiting Atlanta! They have three whale sharks on one tank!

Katy Perry/Inez Moro emulation. 

This was my very first “fashion shoot” and it was a lot of fun! I was in art direction class and our we had to do a final project that is open-ended but we need to incorporate any type of “art direction” on it. So I was browsing thru my facebook when I stumbled upon Inez Moro’s works. She did an emulation of Katy Perry and I really liked it a lot! From there, I decided that I wanna do a Katy Perry emulation as well and this was the result of it. 

Awesome group of people to work with! Hair and Make-up was phenomenal!

Shoot for a class. We had to emulate a certain fashion photographer and i picked Nick Knight. I specifically chose to emulate his series with Lady Gaga - the one for vanity fair. Long wavy dress, long wavy hair and a very clean, naturalistic make-up was the theme. I added color gels to my lights to give that red/purple overcast on the background - i think it adds more depth and makes the picture more dramatic.
